Dr. Luigi Topacio grew up in the Philippines and moved to the United States as a teenager. He completed his undergraduate studies in biology at the University of San Francisco. While in the bay area, he gained veterinary experience in multiple institutions working with various species. In addition to working as a veterinary assistant in private practice, he volunteered and worked at the San Francisco Zoo and the Marine Mammal Center in Sausalito, California.
Dr. Topacio earned his Veterinariae Medicinae Doctoris from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2017. He moved to Southern California to complete his rotating internship at the Veterinary Specialty Hospital in San Marcos. Following his rotating internship, Dr. Topacio stayed with the North County family as a full-time emergency doctor. His interests include cardiology and anesthesia.
In his free time, he enjoys swimming at the beach, cooking, playing basketball, and exploring new trails with his dog, Adonis.
